2 1/2 years since the last time..

Warning: Lots of pictures to tell the story! :-D

2 1/2 years ago, this is what Aubrey looked like.

2 1/2 years ago, she begged me to cut her hair for the first time, and I did.

In the past 2 1/2 years, Aubrey has learned about cancer and the fact that children can get it too. Her being able to donate her hair has been part of why she has been growing out her hair. In fact, when she found out Danno had cancer she even said he could use some of hers if he was going to loose his.

Today she asked again and I said yes.

In my research, I learned that Great Clips will do free haircuts if you're donating to Locks of Love so we chose to go there.

Being as this was haircut #2 and the last time was in my kitchen, she was so excited she was going to an actual 'salon'. She asked if they could wash her hair.. it was $3 so I agreed. She was jumping up and down the entire way in..

The wash.
The comb-through.
The cut.
The mirror.

The blow-dry.The evidence.
Any guesses how much my baby had cut off today?? The total donation amount was.. drumroll please... hurry, I'm waiting.. I said DRUMROLL PLEASE.. after 2 1/2 years of growing.. ready??

It was 11 inches! :-O (plus she prob. had another inch trimmed off in the cut itself)

She looks so cute! Aubrey loves it and it's still long enough to easily pull into a pony.

This makes me laugh.. she was trying to roll her eyes back. RANDOM!
One cute 8 year old!

  1. love the rolling eyes picture. i think she looks so cute with shorter hair

  2. Way to go Audrey! I'm growing mine out for the same reason and will probably cut it soon. She looks great!

  3. What a good girl! Her hair does look really cute!

  4. That is so awesome! I think she looks great with her shorter hair, and what a sweetheart to do it for such a wonderful cause! I dare to say you can add this to you list for mom of the year too!

  5. that is so cute that she wanted to do that. SHe had such long hair and still long enought.
